Russian General Questions Trump's Commitment to Save Zelensky
In an interview with the TASS news agency, General Aptey Alauddinov, the Russian military's deputy political director and special forces commander, voiced doubts regarding US President Donald Trump's assertions of rescuing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his administration.
Regarding Trump's previous statements, the general remarked that the US president's past declarations hold little weight, noting, "It doesn't matter to him what he said yesterday; he can easily alter his commitments."
Expressing his skepticism about Trump's sincerity in aiding Zelensky and his government due to Trump's history of errors, the general highlighted that Trump's proclaimed intentions should not be taken seriously.
While Trump has proclaimed his intention to halt the conflict instigated by Russia in Ukraine, Ukrainian officials have repeatedly expressed reservations about US intentions in this matter.
Drawing from his familiarity with US intelligence strategies, the Russian general emphasized that Russia stands as the primary supporter of the Russians, asserting, "The rest are merely acquaintances."
He emphasized the need to strategically advance Russia's interests within these dynamics and align actions with national priorities.
The general emphasized that Russia's true allies are "the army and the navy."
In 2022, Russia targeted Ukraine when Kiev pursued NATO membership.
Experts suggest that the United States, previously eyeing Ukrainian resources, is growing increasingly disillusioned by the contradictory behavior of American officials and Ukraine's bid to join NATO.
